Collections tell stories. But what new perspectives emerge when objects from German museums are placed in international contexts? Or when they are brought into dialogue with works they have not previously been exhibited alongside? This is where our new funding programme “Find constellations” comes in.

We support museums, exhibition venues and memorial sites based in Germany in realising exhibition projects in collaboration with international partner institutions. At the heart of the programme is the mobility of objects from German collections.

“Find constellations” supports expenditure on transport, logistics, customs, insurance, restoration, and conservation of selected objects, creating the conditions needed to make collection holdings accessible worldwide. This allows objects to enter unexpected constellations, reach new audiences and shape how we understand collections.

The programme is open to all institutions with a permanent collection based in Germany, whether experienced in international cooperation or taking this step for the first time.
