Distinguishing between facts and deliberate disinformation is becoming increasingly difficult. What role can museums play in countering disinformation in times of hybrid warfare? This question will be explored at the event “Culture vs. Disinformation” on Friday, September 18, 2026, at the Humboldt Forum in Berlin.

The event will open with a keynote address by Dr. Magnus Hjort, Director-General of the Swedish Psychological Defence Agency. This will be followed by the panel discussion “How to Build Trust? Museums in the Age of Hybrid Warfare”, featuring experts from Ukraine, Poland, and Germany. Participation is free of charge; however, registration is required.

“Culture vs. Disinformation” is organized by the Ukrainian museum network OBMIN, which has been supporting Ukrainian museums in their reconstruction efforts and international networking activities since 2022. The event marks the public conclusion of the study tour “Cultural Guardians. Empowering Polish, Ukrainian, and German Museum Professionals Through Crisis Management, Digitisation, and Education”, a peer-exchange programme that brings Ukrainian museum professionals to Poland and Germany to strengthen collaboration and facilitate knowledge transfer within the cultural sector.
