11–17 October 2026
Berlin, Dresden, Stuttgart
Four months after our study tour “Future-Oriented Museum Management in Brazil and Germany”, the circle comes full turn: at the invitation of the German Federal Foreign Office, twelve museum professionals and cultural journalists from Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo are visiting Germany. The information tour is organized by the Goethe-Institut, with museum agency serving as an advisory partner.
The programme began on 12 October with the workshop “From Exchange to Transformation: The Next Chapter in Brazil–Germany Museum Cooperation” hosted at Museumsagentur. The central focus was on how international collaboration can drive sustainable institutional change, and what organizational structures, capacities, and framework conditions are needed to make such transformation possible.
The delegation will then continue to Berlin, Dresden, and Stuttgart to exchange ideas with colleagues on audience development, museum education and engagement, security, remembrance culture, and provenance research. Several museums that participated in the study tour to Brazil in June are now welcoming their Brazilian counterparts in return.
The information tour is part of the Visitors Programme of the Federal Republic of Germany. The study tour in June was conducted within „Open Perspectives”, an initiative of museum agency.
