About Us
We are the Agency for International Museum Cooperation. As a central point of contact, service provider, and sparring partner, we help museum professionals turn ideas that transcend boundaries into joint projects. Our goal is to facilitate cooperation between German museums and organisations throughout the world.

What does the Agency for International Museum Cooperation do?
Our mission is to strengthen the exchange between German museums and partners worldwide. We are currently developing our services for this purpose. We connect and support museum professionals who are interested in international projects or are already working together. We find individual solutions–from the mutual development of a core idea to the sharing of expertise to its implementation. We also promote and organise professional development formats such as workshops and conferences on current issues in the field of museum work.
The spectrum of our work includes exhibition projects, services for museums, and formats for dialogue and networking as well as museum infrastructure.
Who can benefit from the museum agency’s services?
Our services are directed at German and international museums as well as museum professionals seeking to organise transnational cooperation. We also welcome inquiries from other organisations and individuals involved in international cooperation within the museum context who wish to make use of our services.
How can the museum agency help facilitate my work?
Cooperations across national borders and continents often entail challenges. After an initial consultation, we will work together on finding and developing individual solutions for your project, such as a workshop for your team or tailored support for your specific exhibition project. Can I apply for funding from the museum agency?
We are currently developing various programmes to promote international museum cooperations, with the aim of strengthening the international work of German museums. This work rarely begins directly with an exhibition but often involves overcoming obstacles along the way. Therefore, our programmes are designed to foster international collaboration in all its aspects from the very beginning. We will be making details on how and under what conditions funding can be applied for available on our website soon.
What events does the museum agency organise?
We create opportunities for museum professionals around the world to meet, exchange ideas, and share knowledge. To this end, we take part in and organise workshops, conferences, and other dialogue-based formats. You will soon find more detailed information on our website.

The Agency for International Museum Cooperation was founded at the end of 2023 and has since been gaining momentum. We are developing formats for international cooperation between museums, fostering cross-border knowledge transfer, networking, and exchange. Therefore, we work with experts from around the world and bring together expertise from various disciplines within our Berlin team.
